The Seam Story
Isaac and Rowan founded Seam Fishing in 2025 based on a lifelong passion for angling and a belief that if something is broken, you should fix it.
Born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada Isaac and Rowan became lifelong friends and fishing buddies when they met in kindergarten.
4 years ago we were fishing for Atlantic Salmon on the west coast of Newfoundland. It was our last night before heading home, and after 3 straight days of not seeing a single fish, Isaac finally hooked into one.
After five minutes of fighting a beautiful Atlantic Salmon, all the pressure was on me to land it... can you guess what happened next?
If you guessed that I landed it without breaking a sweat, you’d unfortunately be very wrong. I managed to knock the hook right out of its mouth with the net. Off it went, back into the river. No pictures, no videos, and zero proof we even had any luck.
While that specific heartbreak isn't the only reason we started Seam, it certainly would have been a good excuse to start making better landing nets.
Ultimately, the net we were using that day and the nets we had used over the past decade simply didn't last. We were sick and tired of needing a new one every couple of seasons because of cheap construction and failed meshes.
